Class 2 Nights Driver (CAT C) - Gatwick Airport Waste & Recycling ContractThe Best Connection has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Class 2 Nights Driver to join a busy waste and recycling operation based at Gatwick Airport.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain sector while supporting the waste management and recycling operation at one of the UK's busiest airports.
Unlike traditional HGV driving roles, this position is entirely based on-site at the airport. You won't be travelling long distances. Instead, you'll move between terminals and operational areas, collecting commercial and domestic waste and recycling materials before transporting them to the airport's on-site recycling facility.
This is a hands-on role that combines driving with physical work, making it ideal for drivers who enjoy being active throughout their shift.

- Pay Rate: £17.82 per hour
- Pay Frequency: Weekly, every Friday
- Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off
- Hours: 18:00 - 06:00

Main Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 vehicle throughout Gatwick Airport's operational areas
- Collect waste and recycling materials from terminals, offices and airport facilities
- Transport collected materials to the airport recycling centre
- Load and unload waste bins and containers as required
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and accurately complete documentation
- Report vehicle defects, damage and maintenance issues promptly
- Communicate effectively with the operations team throughout the shift
- Comply with Drivers' Hours regulations, Working Time Directive requirements and Tachograph legislation
- Follow all airport security procedures and health & safety standards
- Support the wider operation with additional duties where required
Candidate Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence with Category C (Class 2) entitlement
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Good spoken and written English
- Comfortable undertaking physical work alongside driving duties
- Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious approach
- Ability to provide a full 5-year employment and/or education history for airside security clearance
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
