Teach In Qualified (TiQ) Programme - Teaching Assistant to QTS Programme - Primary - East London

Teach In Qualified is a 2 year, salaried programme that takes graduates from Teaching Assistant to Qualified Teacher Status by gaining paid experience in a school. By starting as a Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to find your feet in the school and get to know the culture of the teachers and the pupils before taking on independent teaching responsibilities. 

As a graduate, you can expect to pay no course fees (funded by the school), receive comprehensive training on teaching theories even whilst working as a Teaching Assistant, an excellent network of support from the school, us & our training partner and you will end up with Qualified Teacher Status. The programme does involve academic work, like any initial teacher training programme, but the Teaching Assistant introduction and the 2-year structure will allow you to really get to grips with what you'll be learning outside of the classroom as opposed to rushing through it.

We are looking for graduates who have an interest in a long-term career as a teacher and who are committed beyond the length of the two year programme. Ideally you will have worked as a Teaching Assistant before applying to the programme, but any experience with children (particularly in a school) will potentially be accepted. 

As well as the Teaching Assistant work, PD days and in-school experience, you will also be part of a cohort of other graduates going through the same stage of the programme which will help you develop professionally and should be nice on a personal note. 

Eligibility:

* 2:1 or higher Honours degree - 2:2s may be accepted with exceptional experience

* C or above in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths, English and Science 

* Experience working with children (ideally, but not essentially as a Teaching Assistant or within a classroom setting)
