About the role
Locum GP – Oldham
Want your work to make a real difference to the community it serves? Tom is supporting a busy Oldham practice that cares for a diverse, multilingual patient population and is looking for a Locum GP who enjoys varied, meaningful general practice.
Key Details:
– Location: Oldham
– Role: Locum GP
– Rate: £700 per day
– Availability: 3–5 days available, with flexibility
– Working pattern: Full or half-day sessions, Monday to Friday
– Patient workload: Up to 15 patients per session, with double appointments booked when an interpreter is needed
– Clinical system: EMIS
– Start date: Immediate start available
Key Responsibilities:
– Running mixed GP clinics covering acute illness, chronic disease and family health
– Consulting with patients through telephone and face-to-face interpreting services
– Supporting long-term condition reviews and preventive health checks
– Working closely with the care coordinator, clinical pharmacist and practice nurses
About the Opportunity:
This practice understands its patients. Interpreters are easy to book and double slots are built into the rota, so language never gets in the way of good care or leaves you running late. The clinical team is friendly and close-knit, and the reception staff know the local community well, which makes a real difference in your first few weeks. You’ll see a wide range of presentations, from diabetes and cardiovascular disease to young families, so no two sessions feel the same. Oldham has quick tram links into Manchester city centre and easy access to the M60, and ongoing sessions are available.
Requirements:
– Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
– Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
– Right to work in the UK
– Appropriate medical indemnity cover
– Relevant GP/primary care experience
– Up-to-date compliance
