About the role
We are recruiting for an Early Years Practitioner to work in a First School based in Droitwich. This Early Years Practitioner role will involve supporting the school's early years provision, helping to create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where young children can develop their communication, social, emotional, and early learning skills.
The role will involve providing general early years support, engaging children in play-based learning activities, and supporting children's development through a range of age-appropriate experiences. You will also be required to provide personal care where needed, supporting children's hygiene, comfort, and independence throughout the school day. The school is looking for a patient, nurturing, and experienced Early Years Practitioner who can provide consistent care and support, encourage independence, and help children feel safe, settled, and engaged in their learning.
This role is full-time, starting in November and continuing until July 2027. The successful candidate must hold a relevant Early Years qualification and have previous experience working within an early years, nursery, pre-school, or primary school setting. The ability to support young children's development, provide personal care sensitively, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment is essential.
As an Early Years Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:

Supporting children with their personal, social, and emotional development.
-
Helping children develop their communication and language skills through play-based activities and everyday interactions.
-
Supporting children's personal care needs, including toileting, changing, and hygiene routines where required.
-
Promoting children's independence with personal care, dressing, and everyday routines in an age-appropriate manner.
-
Using positive behaviour management strategies to encourage appropriate behaviour and engagement.
-
Adapting activities and resources to meet children's individual needs, abilities, and developmental stages.
-
Working on a one-to-one basis and with small groups to support children's participation and progress.
-
Helping children develop early literacy, numeracy, physical, and creative skills through play and exploration.
-
Encouraging children to develop their confidence, independence, and social interaction skills.
-
Working closely with the class teacher and other members of staff to provide consistent care and support.
-
Supporting daily classroom routines, transitions, and activities throughout the school day.
-
Maintaining children's dignity, privacy, and wellbeing when providing personal care.
-
Building positive relationships with children and their families, where appropriate, to support children's wellbeing and development.
-
Maintaining a strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and the welfare of all children.

-
