Are you confident with cash reconciliations and purchase ledger, and ready for a new challenge?

I’m working with an established business in Blackpool that is looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is a varied, hands-on role with a particular focus on weekly cash reconciliations and purchase ledger. You’ll need to be organised, confident working with numbers and comfortable managing a busy workload.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and reconciling weekly cash sheets, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Investigating and resolving any cash discrepancies.
• Processing supplier invoices and credit notes.
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving payment queries.
• Assisting with supplier payment runs.
• Supporting bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Liaising with suppliers and internal departments to resolve queries.
• Assisting with month-end processes and general finance administration.

What I’m Looking For

Ideally, you’ll have previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger or similar finance role.

You’ll also need:

• Experience with cash reconciliations and purchase ledger processes.
• Good Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• The ability to prioritise your workload and meet deadlines.
• A proactive approach and the confidence to investigate and resolve discrepancies.

An AAT qualification, or working towards one, would be beneficial but isn’t essential.
