Salary: £26.40 per hour (based on £22.00 basic + 20% nightshift rate, paid every 4 weeks)
Days: 4 on 4 off (Nights) - 18:00-06:00 (12-hour shift with 30-minute unpaid lunch) + overtime opportunities

ABOUT THE ROLE
HRGO is recruiting on behalf of our client who is an established commercial vehicle maintenance provider. We are recruiting an experienced Workshop HGV Technician to join their nightshift team based in Hatfield. This is a hands-on workshop role working on a mixed fleet of trucks, vans and trailers, carrying out inspections, servicing, maintenance and repairs-ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs across a mixed fleet of vehicles and trailers
- Complete routine inspections and safety checks
- Fault diagnosis and rectification (mechanical/electrical as required)
- MOT preparation and presentation
- Accurately complete all job cards, service sheets and associated paperwork using online systems
- Work to company procedures and health & safety legislation at all times
- Maintain high standards of workmanship in a fast-paced workshop environment
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in HGV Mechanics / Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (essential)
- Previous HGV Technician experience with strong fault-finding skills (essential)
- Ability to work effectively in a busy workshop environment (essential)
- Strong awareness of health & safety in a workshop setting (essential)
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Functional IT skills / confidence using online job systems (beneficial)
- HGV Class 1 licence (preferred but not essential)
- Minimum 2 years' post-qualified experience (preferred)
