Overview:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Diagnostic Technician to join a busy vehicle workshop in Fengate, Peterborough. The successful candidate will specialise in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of cars and light commercial vehicles, using strong technical knowledge and diagnostic skills to identify and resolve faults efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out diagnostics, servicing, maintenance and repairs on cars and light commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical, mechanical and technical faults.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and provide effective solutions.
• Carry out inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT.
• Complete job cards and service documentation accurately.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and workshop safety.
• Keep up to date with vehicle technology and attend relevant training.
• Work independently while supporting other technicians when required.
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Diagnostic Technician within the motor trade.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience working on cars and light commercial vehicles.
• Relevant technical qualification such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 is desirable.
• Good knowledge of modern vehicle electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Own tools required.

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with alternate Saturdays 8:30am–12:00pm.
