About the role
Business Services Manager Predominantly home-based with occasional travel to locations across the UK/Newark office up to GBP45,000 per annum Permanent, Full Time (35 hours per week) Closing date for applications: 8 November 2026 First interview: 24 & 25 November 2026 (Online) Second interview: 1 December 2026 (Online) About Us A grassroots movement of people from a wide range of backgrounds and all walks of life, who believe that we need nature and nature needs us. We have more than 945,000 members, over 33,000 volunteers, 4,100 staff and 600 trustees. There are 46 individual trusts, each of which is a place-based independent charity with its own legal identity, formed by groups of people getting together and working with others to make a positive difference to wildlife and future generations, starting where they live and work. A registered charity in its own right founded in 1912 and one of the founding members of IUCN - the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. Taken together this federation of 47 charities. The next few years will be critical in determining what kind of world we all live in. We need to urgently reverse the loss of wildlife and put nature into recovery at scale if we are to prevent climate and ecological disaster. We recognise that this will require big, bold changes in the way we work, not least in how we mobilise others and support them to organise within their own communities. About You As Business Services Manager, you will play a key role in translating 2030 Strategy into operational reality across the federation. You will work with Trusts to support the transition from strategic intent to practical delivery, helping them adopt an improved operating model while respecting local context. You will act as a connector between strategy, services and delivery; supporting the carity to access and engage with services more easily, tracking needs and uptake, and working closely with service owners and delivery teams to improve service performance, benefits realisation and impact measurement. As Business Services Manager, you will be pragmatic and collaborative with experience working across strategy, services and delivery in complex, federated or multi stakeholder environments. You will be motivated by helping organisations turn strategy into action, supporting improvement in operating models and ways of working. You will have proven account management skills and be comfortable working directly with a range of stakeholders, including leaders, service owners and delivery teams, and be able to adapt your approach to different contexts. You will have excellent problem solving skills, using insight and evidence to identify gaps, recommend solutions and support practical change. You will bring experience in service design, service performance, organisational improvement or portfolio level working, with the ability to track engagement, performance and benefits in a clear and meaningful way. You will be confident selling services internally and able to spot opportunities to join up activity across teams and services to reduce friction and improve outcomes. If you are a relationship focused, delivery oriented professional with a passion for improving organisational capability and making services work better for people, we encourage you to apply. Our Culture People are at the heart of everything we do, we are committed to promoting positive wellbeing, supporting our colleagues to grow, make a meaningful contribution and help deliver greater impact for nature, climate and communities. Through learning, development and collaboration, we aim to foster an inclusive, supportive and values-led culture where colleagues feel confident to share ideas, contribute their perspectives, challenge constructively and learn from experience. We are committed to providing a safe, respectful and inclusive environment and maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of discrimination, harassment (including sexual harassment) or abuse. This extends to all interactions with our employees by third parties, including clients, contractors, suppliers and visitors. We encourage everyone to bring their authentic selves to work and to feel comfortable and confident in their working environment. Whether working from home, in the office, outdoors or in the community with key stakeholders, we trust colleagues to use their judgement and managers' guidance to dress appropriately reflecting our values and professionalism. Disability Confident Scheme We are committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming recruitment experience for all applicants. Applicants with disabilities will be considered for the next stage of the selection process should they meet all the minimum criteria for the role outlined in the person specification detailed as essential criteria in the recruitment pack. As part of our Disability Confident Scheme, RSWT offers an interview to a fair and proportionate number of applicants with disabilities and therefore not all applicants with disabilities would be entitled to an interview as they must still satisfy the minimum requirements for the job. This commitment is designed to help reduce barriers and promote equal opportunity. We actively work to remove barriers throughout the recruitment journey and are dedicated to creating an accessible and supportive recruitment experience by offering reasonable adjustments at every stage of the recruitment process, as well as within the workplace.
