About the role
Our client is looking for a production operative in a modern and exciting online cake business, producing a fantastic range of wonderful cakes which are sold to our customers via the website and through a network of wholesalers throughout the UK.
They have ambitious plans to become the leading online cake business in the UK and we are looking to recruit a production operative.
Job description
The role is fast paced at times but a need to do things without errors is key. The role includes working with our picking system to pick cakes that need to be sent down to our packing team, Packing the orders that go out to our website customers and packing the orders that go out to our trade customers. The successful candidate will have speed of hand, great attention to detail and follow instruction well. Candidates that make it through the first online selection process will be asked to attend a trial shift so they can try out the role and we can assess their suitability.
The role also involves filling with buttercream and finishing all different types of cakes that have been baked by our bakers. It also includes applying fondant icing to the top of our personalised cake orders and operating a flow wrap machine that wraps all the cakes to keep the fresh. The successful candidate will have great speed of hand and exceptional eye for detail. experience needed.
What we're looking for:
- A positive attitude and willingness to work
- Previous food production or manufacturing experience is beneficial but not essential
- Good reliability and timekeeping
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Safety boots
- Own transport due to the rural location
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pay:
£12.71 per hour (PAYE)
£14.24 per hour (PAYE Advanced – includes rolled-up holiday pay)
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday
8:00am – 5:00pm
