An established and well-regarded accountancy practice based in Thirsk is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join its team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in accountancy practice who is looking for a varied role within a professional and friendly environment.
The Role
You will work across a varied portfolio of clients and will be responsible for a range of accounting and tax-related duties, including:
- Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Assisting with Corporation Tax returns and related work.
- Liaising with clients and dealing with queries in a professional manner.
- Managing your workload effectively and working to deadlines.
- Supporting the wider team with general accounting duties.
About You
The practice is open to considering candidates from a range of backgrounds, but you will ideally have:
- At least 3 years' strong experience working within an accountancy practice.
- Solid experience across accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT and Corporation Tax.
- Good technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing
