Interim Technical Pensions Lead

A local authority pension fund is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Pensions Lead to take ownership of its pension fund accounting and help strengthen processes for the current and upcoming financial year.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Budget setting and ongoing financial monitoring
- Accruals and month-end processes
- Investment accounting and reporting
- Annual financial reporting
- Supporting and finalising the external audit process
- Ensuring the fund is properly set up and prepared for the next financial year
Key requirements:
- Strong LGPS experience
- Previous pension fund accounting experience within local government
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Experience across year-end, audit and financial reporting
- Ability to work autonomously and establish robust processes quickly
This would suit an experienced local government pensions accountant who can take ownership of the technical accounting function and provide immediate support to a busy pension fund team.
