Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and highly regarded primary school in Lancashire to recruit a dedicated Year 2 Teaching Assistant. Your new role
As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons while helping pupils to develop both academically and socially. You will work closely with individual pupils and small groups, providing targeted support to ensure all children can access learning and make progress.Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting teaching and learning within a Year 2 classroom.
• Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning objectives.
• Assisting with phonics, reading, writing and numeracy interventions.
• Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
• Supporting pupils with varying learning needs and abilities.
• Assisting with classroom preparation, displays and resource organisation.
• Promoting positive behaviour in line with the school's policies.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 1.
• A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
• A good understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, caring and proactive approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one through Hays.
