Teach In Qualified – Start as a Teaching Assistant, train up to Qualified Teacher

Teach In Qualified (TiQ) is a new, two year programming allowing graduates to obtain Qualified Teacher Status whilst working in a school and getting paid.

By starting as a Teaching Assistant and receiving training both in-school and externally from a team of experts in delivering school-based training, you will gradually increase your responsibilities and competence with the pupils at a rate that suits you and the school.

You will learn through your work as a Teaching Assistant, shadowing teachers, in-school mentoring, distance learning and external training days so that you are ready to move on from Teaching Assistant work and begin independent class teaching in the third term. Over the course of the 3rd-6th terms the volume of the teaching timetable you will take will increase each term as you grow accustomed to the job.

A primary school in Dagenham, East London are looking for up to four graduates to take on in Teaching Assistant roles and train them up through TiQ to Qualified Teacher Status, starting in January.

What do you need?

A degree (2:1 or higher ideally, 2:2 for exceptional candidates)

C’s or above in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths, English & Science

Experience of working with children (Teaching Assistant or Tutor ideally, other experience considered)
