About the role
A Tier 1 infrastructure contractor is scaling its substation design team for two major Scottish transmission programmes.
You'll lead design delivery on AIS and GIS substations up to 400kV, from bid through to construction.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You'll lead design coordination across every discipline and RIBA stage, managing in-house and external design teams on AIS and GIS substations up to 400kV.
Few contractors are resourcing substation design at this scale in Scotland, so you'll shape the design management approach on landmark schemes rather than inherit someone else's.
There's a multi-year, multi-billion pound pipeline behind the team, with Senior Design Manager roles also open for people already at that level.
ABOUT YOU
- You already manage substation design at EHV and want to lead it on landmark schemes
- You're comfortable coordinating in-house and external design teams across every discipline
- You want to shape the design management approach, not inherit it

- Design management experience on AIS or GIS substations, ideally up to 400kV
