SEND Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education is currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Cannock on a long-term basis. The school provides a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop their confidence, independence and achieve their full potential. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with primary-aged children and supporting their individual learning needs.

Our client wants to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, from Reception through to Year 6. Responsibilities in this role include providing support within the classroom, working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and supporting small groups where required. You may also be involved in assisting with learning activities, supporting communication and social development, and helping pupils manage their behaviour and emotions. The successful candidate will need previous experience supporting children with SEN and be confident adapting their approach to meet individual needs.

Required Skills and Experience for this SEN Teaching Assistant role:

• Experience working in primary schools in the UK

• Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

• Experience supporting pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN

• Experience providing 1:1 and small-group support

• Supporting pupils with their learning and development

• Helping children access the curriculum and overcome barriers to learning

• Effectively manage behaviour and engagement

• Motivating and encouraging pupils to participate in learning

• Supporting children's communication, social and emotional development

• Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and other school staff

• Building positive relationships with pupils

• Commitment to the role

• Being flexible when needed

Working for Flourish Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant you will receive:

• £92.59 day rate to £100 day rate which equates to £18,055 per annum to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year
