Mobile Mechanical Fitter - EA MEICA Framework

Location: East Midlands (Various Environment Agency Sites)
£22.00-£25.00 per hour PAYE - Holiday Pay & Pension Contributions 
Job Type: Permanent

We’re recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a leading contractor delivering maintenance and upgrade works across the Environment Agency MEICA framework throughout the East Midlands.

This is a mobile role working on a range of water and wastewater assets, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on critical infrastructure.

The Role

• Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive mechanical repairs
• Fault finding and breakdown response
• Installation, maintenance and refurbishment of:Mechanical fitting, alignment and commissioning activitiesWorking from engineering drawings and specifications
  • Pumps
  • Motors
  • Gearboxes
  • Valves
  • Pipework
  • Screens
  • Penstocks
  • Actuators
• Completing maintenance reports and site documentation
• Supporting asset upgrades and refurbishment projects
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• CSCS Card
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Previous experience within water, utilities, manufacturing, process or industrial environments
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience working on pumps, motors and rotating equipment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

This role would suit a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Technician, Pump Engineer or Maintenance Engineer with experience maintaining industrial or water-sector assets.
