Financial Controller - Hotel

A basic salary of between £44'000 - £48'000 + bonus + Healthcare + wider company benefits.

We are recruiting for an experienced and commercially astute Financial Controller to join a successful, quality-driven hotel operation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, commercially focused finance professional who understands the demands of the hotel industry and can provide strong financial leadership whilst supporting the wider management team.

As Financial Controller, you will take full responsibility for the hotel's financial performance, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and meaningful commercial insight to drive profitability.

The Role
* Oversee all aspects of the hotel's finance function, including management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
* Work closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team to maximise revenue, control costs and improve profitability.
* Produce accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts and financial analysis.
* Manage cash flow, payroll, balance sheet reconciliations and financial compliance.
* Identify commercial opportunities and provide financial guidance to operational departments.
* Lead, develop and motivate the finance team.
* Ensure strong internal controls, financial procedures and compliance with company standards.

The Candidate
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller with a proven background within the hotel industry, ideally gained in a quality branded, independent or luxury hotel environment.
You will demonstrate:
* Previous experience as a Hotel Financial Controller or in a comparable senior hotel finance position.
* A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) would be beneficial.
* Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of hotel revenue streams, departmental profitability and operational costs.
* Excellent budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting skills.
* Confidence working alongside a General Manager and challenging operational decisions where necessary.
* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
* A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to balance financial control with commercial opportunity.
