HGV Class 1 Driver
Location: Swansea
Pay: £17.00–£18.00 per hour
Job type : Temporary / Ad hoc
Shifts: Days, afternoons and nights – various start times available
We are seeking experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to support general haulage operations in Swansea. This temporary opportunity offers flexible, ad hoc shifts throughout the week, with day, afternoon and night shifts available at various start times.
This role is ideal for reliable, professional drivers with trunking or general haulage experience who are committed to safe, compliant vehicle operation.
About the role
You will support general haulage and logistics operations, transporting palletised goods and other freight safely and efficiently. Work may include trunking, full and part loads, and deliveries in line with customer requirements.
With a variety of shifts available, this is an excellent opportunity for drivers seeking flexibility and work across different days and times throughout the week.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out trunking and general haulage work safely and efficiently.
- Complete vehicle checks before and after each journey.
- Transport loads in line with delivery instructions and legal requirements.
- Secure and protect goods appropriately.
- Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.
- Maintain professional standards when dealing with customers, site teams and other road users.
- Report any vehicle, load or delivery issues promptly.
Skills and qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
- Relevant Driver CPC and digital tachograph entitlement.
- Previous trunking or general haulage experience.
- Strong knowledge of safe driving practices and vehicle checks.
- Good timekeeping and a dependable approach.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Clear communication skills and a professional approach to customer service.
