General Operative – Tamworth, Kingsbury Link

People Solutions are currently recruiting for General Operatives to join our well-established client based in Tamworth, Kingsbury Link.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £13.00 per hour, weekly pay, paid breaks, full training and genuine opportunities for permanent employment and career progression. No previous manufacturing experience is required, as our client is happy to train and upskill candidates across multiple departments, including machine operating, CNC work, grinding and fabrication.

This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a General Operative, Production Operative, Manufacturing Operative, Workshop Operative, Assembly Operative or Machine Operative.

Important: Own transport is essential due to the site location, as there are no public transport routes available.

Shifts

 • Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 16:00
 • Friday: 07:00 – 12:00
 • Early finish every Friday

Rates of Pay

 • £13.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

As a General Operative, your duties will include:

 • Using hand tools, including drills and sanding equipment
 • Assembling parts using hand tools
 • Following work instructions to ensure product quality and conformity
 • Carrying out regular quality inspections and addressing any issues
 • Ensuring sufficient raw materials are available to maintain productivity
 • Keeping the workshop and surrounding work areas clean and tidy
 • Supporting general workshop and production activities as required

Essential Skills

To be successful as a General Operative, you will need:

 • Confidence using basic hand tools
 • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
 • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
 • Comfortable working in a manual, workshop-based environment
 • Willingness to learn new skills and processes
 • Ability to travel independently to the site due to limited transport links

Desirable Experience

 • Previous experience in production, manufacturing, assembly or workshop environments
 • Experience using hand tools or working with machinery
 • Previous CNC, grinding or fabrication experience would be beneficial but is not essential

Training Provided

 • Full on-site training provided
 • Opportunities to learn machine operating, CNC work, grinding and fabrication
 • Ongoing development and upskilling throughout your assignment
