About the role
Teaching Assistant – Infant School (KS1 & SEND Support) | Hassocks, Mid Sussex
Location: Hassocks, West Sussex (BN6)
Hours: Monday to Friday, full school days
Contract: Full-time, temporary supply
Dates: Tuesday 3 November 2026 to Monday 16 November 2026
Pay: £90 per day, inclusive of holiday pay, paid weekly through PAYE
Sussex Teachers are working with a small infant school in Hassocks to find a temporary Teaching Assistant for two weeks in November. The placement runs from Tuesday 3 November to Monday 16 November, starting straight after October half term.

The role
- Support pupils across KS1 during lessons, phonics, early reading and classroom activities.
- Work with individuals and small groups to help children take part in learning and build confidence.
- Give some targeted support to pupils with SEND, following guidance from the class teacher and SENCO.
- Help the class teacher keep the classroom positive, inclusive and well organised.
What we're looking for
- Recent experience supporting children in a primary or infant school, nursery or similar setting.
- Experience supporting pupils with additional needs (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech and language needs) is welcome.
- A warm, patient and adaptable approach to working with young children.
- Availability Monday to Friday for the full placement, 3–16 November.
