We’re recruiting for a Data Scientist to join a data migration project for a leading organisation. This role will focus on migrating approximately 20 existing analytical models from one set of data sources to another, ensuring accuracy, consistency and performance throughout the transition.
The models include a mixture of machine learning-based propensity and classification models, alongside rules-based models built in SQL. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Data Scientist who enjoys problem solving, working with complex datasets and delivering high-quality outcomes within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Migrate existing analytical and machine learning models to new data sources.
- Analyse, validate and test model outputs to ensure consistency and accuracy following migration.
- Work with SQL and Python to support model redevelopment, optimisation and validation activities.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to understand model logic, requirements and dependencies.
- Maintain version control and development best practices using Git/GitHub.
- Identify and resolve data quality, migration and model performance issues.
- Support the wider team in delivering a successful migration programme.
Requirements
- Strong SQL skills with experience working across complex datasets.
- Commercial experience using Python for data analysis, modelling and validation.
- Experience with Git/GitHub and version-controlled development practices.
- Knowledge of propensity modelling, classification models and machine learning techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude.
This role would suit a pragmatic Data Scientist who combines strong SQL and Python skills with the ability to understand, migrate and validate existing analytical models within a fast-paced project environment.
Please note, engagement is via umbrella company only; all tax and NI will be deducted at source.
