About the role
We are working with an established financial planning business that is looking for an Operations Manager to take ownership of its wealth management support operation.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys looking at how things work, spotting opportunities to improve them and turning good ideas into practical changes that make a real difference.
With the management responsibility for the Paraplanning team and the wider operational processes that support Financial Advisers and Financial Planners, you will have the opportunity to influence how this IFA business operates, how teams work together and how technology can support its future development.
This is a role where your ideas, initiative and experience will genuinely matter.
What makes this opportunity different?
The financial planning business is at an important point in its development, creating an opportunity for someone to take a fresh look at its existing processes, identify opportunities and help shape what comes next.
You will have the scope to review current ways of working, improve workflow between Financial Advisers and Paraplanners, introduce greater consistency and accountability, and explore how emerging technology and AI could help the business work more efficiently.
We are looking for someone who enjoys asking questions, exploring possibilities and finding better ways to achieve great outcomes. Someone who can see the bigger picture, understand the practicalities of day-to-day operations and bring people with them as improvements are introduced.
As the Operations Manager, what will you be doing?
You will take a hands-on approach to managing and developing the Financial Planning support operation, ensuring the Paraplanning team has the structure, processes and support it needs to deliver an excellent service.
Your Operations Management responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing the Paraplanning team, supporting individuals to perform at their best and creating an environment where people can develop and contribute ideas
- Reviewing and improving workflow between Financial Advisers, Financial Planners and the Paraplanning team
- Taking ownership of existing processes, identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical improvements
- Introducing greater structure, consistency and accountability across operational activities
- Exploring opportunities to improve the delivery of paraplanning and the wider client service experience
- Managing relationships with external paraplanning providers and ensuring effective collaboration
- Identifying opportunities to use technology, automation and AI to improve processes, reduce unnecessary administration and support better ways of working
- Bringing teams together, strengthening communication and encouraging a more joined-up approach to service delivery
- Working with colleagues to understand operational needs and translate these into effective solutions
This is a varied role, with the freedom to look beyond established routines and make improvements that benefit both the team and the wider business.
As the Operations Manager you will ideally bring:
- Experience in Financial Planning, Wealth Management or a related professional services environment
- Experience managing people, processes or operational activities
- A good understanding of how Financial Advisers, Financial Planners, Paraplanners and client service teams work together
- The confidence to review established processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- An interest in technology, automation and AI, with a practical understanding of how these could enhance operational efficiency
- The ability to turn ideas into achievable plans and deliver meaningful improvements
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to bring people along with you
Where will you be working?
This financial planning company is based in a modern office environment with a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
The longer-term expectation is generally one to two days per week in the office, with flexibility around the remainder of the working week.
Could this be the right next step for you?
Whatever has brought you to consider your next move, this is an opportunity to use your experience, curiosity and initiative to make a lasting contribution.
If you enjoy bringing people together, improving how things work and turning possibilities into progress, we’d love to have a conversation.
