About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator/Setter to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to precisely bend and shape sheet metal components. Your expertise will ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications, contributing to efficient production workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced fabrication equipment in a fast-paced environment, where your mechanical skills and attention to detail will drive success.
Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:00am–3:00pm, Friday 7:00am–12:00pm
Responsibilities
- Set and operate AMADA press brake machines
- Select and fit the correct tooling for each job
- Read and work from engineering drawings
- Program and adjust machines between different jobs
- Work with different materials and thicknesses
- Produce components accurately to specification
- Carry out quality checks and record results
- Meet production schedules and deadlines
- Report machine issues/breakdowns
- Carry out basic/autonomous machine maintenance
- Work closely with the Production Supervisor
- Support continuous improvement and training
- Provide overtime/emergency cover when required
Skills
- Previous Press Brake setting and operating experience
- Manufacturing/engineering background
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Understanding of materials, tooling and bending operations
- Good computer skills
- Able to work independently and meet production targets
