• Role: Transport Shift Manager

• Location: Plymouth, PL7 4JH (Must be within a commutable distance from Plymouth)

• Salary: £47,000 to £54,000 per annum plus great benefits (Work Level 6A)

• Contract Type: Permanent, full-time (39 hours per week, 5 over 7)

• Shift Pattern: Flexible shift coverage (days, backs, nights) including a weekend rota.

What You’ll Do

You will lead all aspects of transport operations across all shifts at our Plymouth depot, playing a vital role in keeping our nationwide network running smoothly. Duties include:

• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and support a team of up to 70 depot colleagues, including 6 Team Managers across a 24/7 operation, driving progression and building a culture of safety and belonging.

• Operational & Compliance Management: Ensure strict adherence to transport legislation and compliance standards while removing barriers to meet performance targets.

• Relationship Building: Work closely with the Distribution Manager and build strong collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.

What You’ll Bring

• A national CPC qualification (or a willingness to work towards this within the next 6 months).

• Proven experience in a transport or retail operations environment with a strong understanding of transport legislation and operating systems.

• Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to support colleague development, deliver operational changes, and communicate inclusively.
