Mechanical Test Engineer (Vehicles / Engines) 6829

Location: Nailsworth

Hours:
Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm, Friday 7:30am – 2:00pm (40 hours per week) with occasional weekend work

Salary: £12.98 – £18.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
 

Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Test Engineer

• Carry out vehicle testing and repair on specialist equipment
• Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and engines
• Support the service and after-sales team as required
• Attend customer sites for on-site testing, installation, and calibration when required
• Collaborate effectively within a small, skilled engineering team
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and quality control

Key Skills of a Mechanical Test Engineer

Essential:

• Mechanical or electrical engineering background
• Hands-on practical experience within an engineering or workshop environment
• Strong interest in technical systems and problem-solving
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites

Highly Advantageous:

• Experience working with engines
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Understanding of specialist vehicle systems
