Pay: £107.71 (Based on 6.5-hour day rate)

Whether you have experience as a Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Sports Coach, Support Worker or have previously worked with children and young people, we would love to hear from you.
Milk Education is seeking dedicated Behaviour Support Assistants to support pupils across primary schools in Gateshead. Opportunities are available on both a part-time and full-time basis, with flexible supply work, long-term placements and permanent opportunities available.
Responsibilities of a Behaviour Support Assistant may include:
- Providing 1:1 support for pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support
- Supporting children to regulate emotions and develop positive coping strategies
- Implementing behaviour support plans and personalised interventions
- Encouraging engagement in classroom activities and learning
- Building positive relationships with pupils to support confidence and self-esteem
- Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Behaviour Support Assistant Essential Criteria:
- Experience working with children or young people
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence supporting challenging behaviour with empathy and consistency
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- The ability to build trust with pupils who may need additional support
- Reliability, adaptability and a positive attitude
- Availability for at least 3 days per week (flexible)
- Local to Gateshead
