About the role
Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or Youth Support Worker seeking a meaningful, long-term opportunity in Bodmin? We are currently seeking a dedicated professional to join a supportive educational environment focused on re-engaging young people with their learning journey. This position offers a unique balance between traditional classroom support and community-based education.
Responsibilities
Provide tailored support for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to foster confidence and academic stability.
Facilitate community-based learning by accompanying students on educational visits and life-skills projects.
Deliver 1:1 and small group mentoring aligned with individual Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
Employ positive reinforcement and professional de-escalation strategies to manage classroom dynamics effectively.
Collaborate closely with educational specialists to monitor and document student progress.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Youth Worker.
Demonstrated commitment to supporting students with SEN, SEMH, ASD, or disaffected behaviours.
Capacity to work full-time hours (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday).
Current Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
What We Offer
Competitive daily pay: £92.56 - £95.00.
Term-time consistency with reliable working hours.
