SEN Teaching Assistant - Bodmin

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or Youth Support Worker seeking a meaningful, long-term opportunity in Bodmin? We are currently seeking a dedicated professional to join a supportive educational environment focused on re-engaging young people with their learning journey. This position offers a unique balance between traditional classroom support and community-based education.


Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to foster confidence and academic stability.

  • Facilitate community-based learning by accompanying students on educational visits and life-skills projects.

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group mentoring aligned with individual Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.

  • Employ positive reinforcement and professional de-escalation strategies to manage classroom dynamics effectively.

  • Collaborate closely with educational specialists to monitor and document student progress.


Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Youth Worker.

  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting students with SEN, SEMH, ASD, or disaffected behaviours.

  • Capacity to work full-time hours (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday).

  • Current Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.


What We Offer
  • Competitive daily pay: £92.56 - £95.00.
