About The Role
Are you a Life Changer? Do you want to lean in and transform the life of a child?
Compass Community puts children first through our therapeutic, innovative approach. Integrity, Courage and Care shape how we work. We listen deeply, challenge each other and fix what needs fixing, together.
This is the work. And we'd like you to be part of it.
Who We Are
Our children come from a wide range of backgrounds, but all have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). Many also have additional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism, ADHD and communication difficulties.
The work we do is varied and challenging and, as a trauma and attachment informed organisation, all staff receive extensive therapeutic training and support.
Our child-centred approach places young people at the heart of decision-making, bringing together education and therapy professionals, parents and carers, local authority teams and students to achieve outstanding outcomes.
The Role
Teaching Assistants at our schools know that no two days and no two children are the same. Our pupils need dedicated adults who can support them through complex and challenging behaviours.
Successful Teaching Assistants understand that children need attention, consistency, flexibility, effective communication and a non-judgemental approach. They are resilient, adaptable and solution-focused, ready to respond to the changing needs of pupils throughout the school day.

- Keep children safe through effective behaviour management and communication
- Deliver activities and games that support learning and social development

- Celebrate achievement and success
- Participate in therapeutic training and reflective practice sessions
Our Teaching Assistants are highly valued members of the team. We encourage them to contribute to school development, support positive outcomes and advocate for every child.
We welcome the interests, ideas and passions our staff bring to enhance both the curriculum and extracurricular opportunities available to our pupils.
