Accounting Technician

MCS Group are proud to be partnering with a leading public sector organisation in their search for an Accounting Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified Accounting Technician to join a professional Finance team, supporting the delivery of accurate financial reporting, reconciliations and high-quality financial services.

The Role:

* Support month-end and year-end accounting processes, including journals and financial reconciliations.

* Assist with the preparation of financial reports, statutory accounts and financial returns.

* Maintain accurate financial records and support robust financial controls across the Finance function.

* Assist with non-current asset reconciliations and maintain the organisation's Asset Register.

* Provide accurate financial information and management information using systems including MS Excel.

* Support finance systems, process improvements and the implementation of new software and processes.

* Liaise with internal stakeholders and auditors, providing accurate and timely financial information as required.

The Person

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Essential:

* Fully qualified Accounting Technician with full membership of a recognised professional body, such as AAT or ATI.

* Minimum of two years' experience working within a Finance environment in a large organisation.

* Experience preparing journals and completing month-end and/or year-end reconciliations.

* Experience using accounting software systems, including fixed asset systems.

* Minimum of five GCSEs or equivalent at grades A*-C/9-4, including English Language and Mathematics.

* Full, current UK driving licence or access to suitable transport to fulfil the requirements of the role.
