Warehouse Operative

Location: Newbury, Berkshire
Hours: 08:30am - 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, 08:30am - 4:00pm Friday
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join a busy and growing business based on the outskirts of Newbury. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced warehouse environment and takes pride in delivering accuracy, efficiency, and excellent service.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring customer orders are picked, packed, and dispatched accurately while maintaining high standards of stock control and health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Picking, packing, and dispatching customer orders accurately and efficiently.


• Receiving and processing stock deliveries.


• Supporting stock control and inventory management processes.


• Assisting with regular stock takes and maintaining stock accuracy.


• Ensuring timely and accurate distribution of goods.


• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.


• Reporting any equipment faults or maintenance requirements.


• Following all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.


• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse operation.


• Undertaking additional warehouse duties as required.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.


• Strong organisational skills.


• Good communication skills.


• Ability to manage workload effectively and prioritise tasks.


• Self-motivated and reliable.


• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.


• Previous experience using warehouse or stock management systems.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.


• Previous warehouse experience within a distribution or manufacturing environment.
