Job Description:
Our client, a supportive and nurturing school in Runcorn is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a safe and inclusive environment, supporting pupils with complex needs from ages 5 to 18. The school is committed to fostering emotional wellbeing and personal growth alongside academic progress.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Teaching Assistant based in Runcorn, your daily duties will include:

Mentoring and supporting individual pupils or small groups of up to six pupils
Assisting classroom teachers during lessons and activities
Reporting on pupils’ progress and liaising with staff to meet pupils’ needs
Supervising pupils during non-classroom times, including extracurricular activities and trips
Supporting lesson planning, classroom preparation, and marking
Building positive relationships with pupils to promote engagement and learning outcomes
Taking additional responsibility in areas such as lunchtime supervision, school trips, or extracurricular activities

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Teaching Assistant, you will need:

A strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics
Previous experience in a similar role, particularly working with pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs
Confidence in behaviour management techniques and classroom support
Experience of working with children in an educational setting
A commitment to professional development and learning
Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by the employer)
