Job DescriptionWe’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician / Watchkeeper to join an offshore installation team.
The role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring and maintenance of mechanical equipment, engine room systems, utilities and power generation equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe and efficient functioning of mechanical equipment and maintenance activities
- Engine room watchkeeping, machinery inspections and accurate logbook completion
- Monitoring machinery performance and supporting efficient fuel and oil consumption
- Operating service, steam and hotel systems
- Maintenance, grease sampling and water testing
- Planned and corrective maintenance using Maximo MMS
- Supporting safe refrigerant handling where required
- Maintaining emergency plant and equipment
- Supporting safety-critical activities including hot work, enclosed vessel entry, chemical handling, fuel transfers and bunkering
- Acting as Area Authority when required
- Emergency response duties, including Engine Room Control Room and Offshore Emergency Response Team responsibilities
- Combined Offshore Survival, Fire Fighting & HUET
- MIST / IMIST
- UK Offshore Medical Certificate
- UK Certificate of Fitness for Emergency Response Team duties
- Relevant recognised engine room systems qualification
- Relevant maintenance experience within the Oil & Gas or Marine industry
- Marine watchkeeping experience
Role training includes: Authorised Gas Tester, Electronic Permit to Work Area Authority, Isolating Authority, Maximo, Environmental Awareness, Flange Management, Rigger Stage 1, Helicopter Refuelling and Offshore Emergency Response Team Member, among others.
