SEN Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education are seeking a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Pershore area, working with pupils who require additional support with learning, behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

The position can offer long-term work or day-to-day assignments, making it suitable for candidates looking for either consistent full-time hours or greater flexibility.

You will work alongside classroom teachers and support staff to help pupils overcome barriers to learning. The school values staff who are patient, consistent and able to build trust with young people.

Job Role:

• Support pupils with additional educational needs

• Work with students on a one-to-one and small-group basis

• Assist pupils with accessing lessons and completing work

• Provide encouragement and reassurance throughout the school day

• Support students with behavioural and emotional difficulties

• Help implement individual learning and behaviour strategies

• Encourage independence and positive relationships

• Liaise with teachers and pastoral staff

• Contribute to a calm and inclusive classroom environment

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience working with children or young people

• Previous Teaching Assistant experience is advantageous

• Experience supporting SEN, SEMH, ASD or ADHD

• Confident working within a secondary school environment

• Ability to manage challenging situations calmly

• Caring and supportive personality

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Reliable and committed approach to work

• £92.59 day rate to £100 day rate which equates to £18,055 per annum to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year

Location

This position is based in the Pershore area, and is commutable from Pershore, Pinvin, Fladbury, Cropthorne, Evesham, Eckington, Great Comberton and surrounding areas.
