Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work at a partner primary school in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton. This is a full-time role starting after October Half Term and continuing until the end of the 26/27 academic year.

The school require a SEND Teaching Assistant to support children of various ages within their dedicated SEND Hub. Responsibilities include providing 1:1 and small group support, managing behaviour and supporting pupils' emotional and academic development.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:

• Helping children develop emotional regulation strategies, positive behaviour and social skills.
• Providing tailored learning support to pupils of different ages and abilities, adapting activities to meet individual needs.
• Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement individual support plans and behaviour strategies.
• Creating a calm, safe and nurturing learning environment where pupils feel supported and encouraged to engage.
• Delivering targeted interventions to support pupils' emotional wellbeing, confidence and academic progress.

Required Skills and Experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Teaching Assistant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
• Previous experience supporting children with SEND, particularly those with SEMH needs, within a UK school setting.
• A good understanding of strategies used to support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Experience working with children of different ages and abilities, adapting support to meet individual needs.
• A patient, empathetic and resilient approach to supporting children with additional needs.
