Key Responsibilities:
As a PRU Teaching Assistant based in Merthyr Tydfil, your daily duties will include:

Supporting pupils with SEMH needs to re-engage with learning and develop social skills
Assisting the Class Teacher in delivering personalised learning plans
Managing behavioural challenges with patience and empathy
Fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all pupils
Monitoring and recording pupil progress and behaviour
Promoting positive behaviour strategies and social development

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a PRU Teaching Assistant, you will need:

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable
Resilient, empathetic, and able to handle challenging situations calmly
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting pupils’ needs
Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH support are advantageous
