Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to work at one of our partner primary schools in Wolverhampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Teaching Assistant to provide SEND support within a Key Stage 2 classroom, helping pupils with additional learning needs access the curriculum and achieve their potential.

The school are seeking a patient and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to work alongside the class teacher, providing targeted support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will help children engage with classroom activities, develop their confidence and independence, and make progress in their learning through a combination of 1:1 support and small group interventions.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing tailored 1:1 and small group SEND support to pupils within a Key Stage 2 classroom.
• Adapting classroom activities and learning resources to ensure pupils with additional needs can access the curriculum.
• Supporting pupils with their communication, social interaction and emotional development.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and confidence throughout the school day.
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support strategies and monitor pupil progress.

Required Skills and Experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or relevant experience supporting children with SEND.
• Previous experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs within a UK primary school.
• A good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and strategies for supporting pupils with SEND.
• Confidence delivering 1:1 and small group interventions while adapting support to meet individual needs.
• A caring, patient and adaptable approach, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Working as a SEND Teaching Assistant for Flourish Education also offers you excellent benefits, including:

• £92.59 to £100.00 per day, equating to £18,055 to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year (195 days), dependent on experience and days worked.
