Tax Trainee

A growing Cardiff based Accountancy practice is seeking a Tax Trainee for their expanding tax team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a numerate Graduate to develop a successful career in Tax. You will receive practical knowledge and support from the highly skilled tax team and work towards professional tax qualifications.

The successful candidate will be provided with full training support towards their ATT/ CTA Tax qualifications.

Duties and responsibilities Tax Trainee:

• Assisting Tax Managers in the preparation of individuals’ Self Assessment Tax Returns on an annual basis, particularly leading up to the January 31st submission deadline.
• Supporting the tax department in providing basic tax planning services to individuals, trusts and smaller businesses.
• Preparation of clients’ Self Employment and Rental accounts, including analysing various
  expenses from client records.
• Preparation of Capital Gains Tax returns when clients are looking to sell residential properties.
• Assisting with trusts, estates and Inheritance Tax calculations.
• Liaising with HM Revenue & Customs, clients, solicitors and other professionals via telephone, email and occasionally meetings.
• Assisting other departments within our firm, including probate, payroll and accounts groups.
• Ad hoc assistance with internal administrative matters of the firm.

It would be advantageous if you have worked in an Accountancy practice previously but this is not essential. The Tax Trainee would need to possess competent IT skills, particularly Word and Excel.

Due to the location of this client you do need to possess a UK drivers license and have access to your own vehicle.

Working hours; Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week.
