Corby, North Northamptonshire Pathway Group Teaching Assistant – Alternative Provision Location: Corby, Northamptonshire Organisation: Pathway Academy Zone Contract: Zero-Hours Contract Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 FTE, pro rata / approximately £13.50 – £14.50 per hour depending on experience Pathway Academy Zone is looking for a confident, resilient and committed Teaching Assistant to support young people within our Alternative Provision in Corby. This is a flexible opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people who may need additional support to engage with education, manage barriers to learning and make positive progress. The Role You will work alongside teaching and pastoral staff to provide practical and individualised support to learners. Key responsibilities include: * Supporting learners on a 1:1 basis and within small groups * Supporting tutors during lessons and learning activities * Helping young people remain engaged, focused and motivated * Supporting learners with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs * Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining clear boundaries * Supporting learners to develop confidence and independence * Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and a positive learning environment * Monitoring learner progress and escalating concerns where appropriate * Building strong professional relationships with learners and colleagues About You We are interested in candidates with experience across areas such as: * Alternative Provision * SEND or SEMH * Schools or colleges * Youth work * Behaviour support * Mentoring * Care or support work * Employability or vocational education You will need to be patient, resilient and able to communicate effectively with young people who may have experienced challenges within mainstream education. A relevant Teaching Assistant, education, SEND or youth work qualification would be advantageous, although strong practical experience will also be considered.
