Data Engineer – 12 Month Contract

Our client is a leading financial institution in Hong Kong looking to build and scale a Next-Gen Analytic and Data focused platform in Hong Kong. We're hiring a Data Engineer to help build and scale a next-generation Data & Analytic Platform for a leading financial institution in Hong Kong. This is a hands-on platform role - you'll design, build and improve the foundations that teams use to move, store, secure and serve data at scale, including support for AI use cases.
You'll sit in the platform team and work across data lake, virtualisation, visualisation and integration layers.
Day to day you will:

Design and build platform capabilities (data lake, virtualisation, visualisation and related services)
Run proofs of concept and acceptance testing on new platform features
Build services and connect them to internal and external API
Assess new tools and patterns that improve performance, reliability and scale
Work with architects, platform engineers and product owners in a CI/CD environment
Partner with AI engineers, data engineers and business users to stand up data pipelines and AI applications
Role Requirements

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
3+ years building data platforms
Strong system design skills
Hands-on Infrastructure as Code
Comfortable with at least one of: Python, Java or Node.js
Scripting (Bash or PowerShell)
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform
