Accountant

Our client, a professional organisation within the veterinary care sector, is seeking an Accountant to support accurate financial management and reporting on a contract basis. The role will suit someone with strong financial administration skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage accounting activities in a structured and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining accurate financial records and accounting information
• Processing invoices, expenses, payments and receipts
• Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
• Preparing financial reports, reconciliations and management information
• Assisting with month-end and year-end accounting procedures
• Monitoring transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal processes
• Liaising with colleagues and external contacts regarding financial queries
• Supporting general finance administration and process improvements

Job Requirements:

• Experience in an accounting or finance role
• Good understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial processes
• Strong numerical ability and excellent attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Professional approach to handling confidential financial information
• Relevant accounting qualification or equivalent practical experience
