Accounts Manager

We are recruiting for an experienced Accounts Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day accounts function across a successful local Garden Centre group operating multiple sites.

Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will manage and support an established team of four accounts staff. This is a hands-on role, requiring someone who is comfortable getting involved in the detail while providing friendly and supportive leadership.
Key Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day accounts function across four companies
• Leading and supporting the existing accounts team
• Month-end processes, trial balances and reconciliations
• Investigating discrepancies and variances
• Managing sales, purchases, cash, banking and stock transactions
• Monthly payroll and VAT records
• Supporting cash flow management and financial reporting
• Maintaining strong financial controls and processes
• Liaising with colleagues across the wider business and multiple sites

About You You will have a strong hands-on accounts background, with experience of month-end processes, reconciliations and double-entry bookkeeping. Previous leadership experience is essential, along with strong Excel skills and experience using Sage.
