The Programme

We are currently preparing for a proposed NHS Paediatric Allergy insourcing programme in North West England, designed to provide additional outpatient capacity within an established paediatric service.

Subject to final approval, we are seeking an experienced Consultant Paediatrician with appropriate Paediatric Allergy expertise to support regular planned clinical activity from approximately October 2026 to March 2027.

The programme is intended to support increased outpatient capacity and improve patient access within a service experiencing sustained demand.

• Setting: NHS Children's Outpatients
• Schedule: Approximately 2 clinical days per week, with weekend sessions anticipated
• Start Date: October 2026, subject to final approval and mobilisation
• Programme Duration: Approximately 6 months, anticipated through to March 2027
• Engagement: Regular planned insourcing sessions
• Payroll: Monthly
• Additional Information: Opportunity to provide regular programme availability rather than isolated ad hoc shifts

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver Consultant-led Paediatric Allergy outpatient clinics within a structured insourced service model
• Assess and manage children referred with suspected or established allergic conditions, including food allergy, urticaria and angioedema, allergic rhinitis and anaphylaxis
• Review relevant allergy investigations and incorporate findings into clinical assessment and management planning
• Interpret skin prick testing and other relevant allergy investigations where appropriate
• Develop appropriate treatment, follow-up and ongoing management plans
• Identify children requiring additional investigation or onward referral for tertiary specialist input
• Work to agreed local clinical pathways, governance requirements and escalation procedures
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
• Work collaboratively with paediatric nursing colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective delivery

What We're Looking For

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Appropriate Consultant-level experience within Paediatric Allergy
• Relevant UK paediatric clinical experience
• Demonstrable experience assessing and managing a broad range of paediatric allergic conditions
• Appropriate experience in allergy investigation and interpretation, including skin prick testing
• Ability to work autonomously within a Consultant-led outpatient environment
• Ability to work within structured, session-based clinical delivery models
• Strong multidisciplinary working, communication and professional standards
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
• Ability to provide regular availability across the proposed programme
