The Programme
We are currently supporting workforce planning for an anticipated NHS Paediatric outpatient insourcing programme, designed to increase capacity across specialist paediatric services.
You will become part of a structured, consultant-led service model, supporting planned weekend outpatient activity within established NHS pathways.
The programme is expected to include specialist paediatric outpatient services including Paediatric Allergy and Paediatric Cardiology, with nurses allocated according to their experience, competencies and the final agreed service model.

What You'll Be Doing
Depending on your experience and allocated pathway, responsibilities may include:
- Supporting consultant-led specialist paediatric outpatient clinics
- Supporting children and families throughout their outpatient journey
- Undertaking clinical observations and escalating concerns appropriately
- Supporting outpatient investigations and procedures within your competencies
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and working within agreed governance procedures
- Working collaboratively with Consultant Paediatricians and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Contributing to efficient patient flow and the consistent delivery of planned outpatient activity
Depending on your clinical background, opportunities may include supporting services involving:
- Paediatric Allergy
- Paediatric Cardiology
- Skin prick testing
- Paediatric ECGs
- Allergy education and action plans
- Adrenaline auto-injector (EpiPen) education
- Paediatric phlebotomy
- Cardiac investigations
- Recognition and management of allergic reactions
- Recognition and escalation of the deteriorating child
What We're Looking For
- Active NMC registration as a Registered Children's Nurse
- Recent UK paediatric nursing experience
- Experience within paediatric outpatient services or another relevant paediatric clinical setting
- Experience supporting specialist paediatric services such as allergy, cardiology or similar outpatient pathways is highly desirable
- Ability to work within a structured, session-based clinical delivery model
- Strong communication, MDT working and professional standards
- Appropriate paediatric safeguarding and escalation competencies
- Up-to-date paediatric life support training
- Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
