The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Ophthalmology Middle Grade Doctor (ST3) to support the Ophthalmology Department in the North West.
This locum opportunity offers the chance to work within a well-established Ophthalmology service, supporting outpatient and urgent eye care provision. The role is ideal for candidates with ophthalmology experience who are confident managing patients in both routine and acute clinical settings while delivering high standards of patient care.
You will work alongside experienced consultants and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred ophthalmology services.

What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver high-quality clinical care within the Ophthalmology service.
- Cover Ophthalmology Outpatient Clinics.
- Provide support within Ophthalmology Casualty Clinics.
- Participate in the Ophthalmology On-Call rota.
- Assess, investigate, and manage a wide range of ophthalmic conditions.
- Work collaboratively with consultants, nursing teams, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
- Escalate clinical concerns appropriately and contribute to patient safety initiatives.
- Support the effective day-to-day delivery of ophthalmology services.
What We're Looking For
- Active GMC registration with a licence to practise.
- ST3 level experience in Ophthalmology or equivalent.
- Recent UK NHS experience within Ophthalmology.
- Experience working in outpatient, emergency ophthalmology, and acute clinical settings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong clinical judgement, communication skills, and professionalism.
- Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship).
