Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £65,000-£80,000 DOE - flexibility to pay more for the right candidate
Working Arrangement: Hybrid - 40% working from home

A highly regarded and nationally recognised law firm is looking to strengthen its successful and established Private Client department with the appointment of an experienced Private Client Lawyer in Chippenham.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Private Client Lawyer to join a collaborative and well-resourced team, handling a varied caseload while having genuine autonomy and the opportunity to develop their career.

The team has significant depth of expertise, with many members STEP qualified and members of Lifetime Lawyers, providing an excellent environment for continued professional development.

The Role

You will manage a varied and rewarding Private Client caseload, including:

• Wills
• Probate and estate administration
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Trusts and trust administration
• Tax and estate planning
• Inheritance Tax matters
• Advising executors, trustees and beneficiaries
• Supporting clients with wider succession planning requirements

You will also:

• Provide clear, expert and practical advice to clients
• Take ownership of your caseload and manage matters with a high degree of autonomy
• Develop strong and lasting client relationships
• Contribute to business development and networking activity
• Develop new client relationships through channels suited to your strengths and interests
• Support and mentor junior members of the team
• Contribute to the continued growth and success of the Private Client department

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong experience within Private Client law
• A proven track record of strong financial performance and meeting targets
• Experience managing an independent Private Client caseload
• Strong technical knowledge across Wills, Probate, Estate Administration and LPAs
• Experience with Trusts and Tax work
• Excellent client care and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build trust and rapport with clients
• Strong commercial awareness and a genuine interest in business development
• A collaborative approach to working within a team
• The confidence to support and develop more junior colleagues
• STEP membership or a commitment to working towards accreditation would be advantageous
