We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Coniston. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a positive difference to students’ education, confidence and overall wellbeing. About the Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students across the secondary school. You will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring students receive the individual support they need to engage with their learning. Your responsibilities may include: Supporting students during lessons and helping them stay focused and engaged. Working with individuals and small groups to support learning and development. Assisting teachers with classroom activities and preparation. Providing additional support to students who may require extra help with their learning. Encouraging positive behaviour and helping students develop their confidence and independence. Supporting students with their social and emotional development where required. Building positive and professional relationships with students and staff. Helping to maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Providing encouragement and reassurance to students who may lack confidence. Following individual support plans and school policies where appropriate.The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about education and supporting young people. You will ideally have: Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably within an educational setting. A patient, positive and supportive approach. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to build strong relationships with students. Confidence working alongside teachers and other school staff. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations. A willingness to learn and develop within the role.Experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable, but candidates with relevant experience working with young people may also be considered.
