Location: Plymouth, Devon
Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Term Time Only)
Salary/Rate: £92.56 - £95.00 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary

We are recruiting a resilient, professional, and empathetic Learning Mentor to join our dedicated Alternative Provision team in Plymouth. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in youth work, behaviour support, or SEN coaching who want to help vulnerable students re-engage with education and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Educational Re-engagement: Provide tailored 1:1 mentorship to young people, supporting their transition back into a stable classroom environment.
Personalised Learning Plans: Develop and execute bespoke behavioural and academic strategies to facilitate student progress.
Community Outreach & Enrichment: Lead educational and social development sessions outside the classroom, utilising local community spaces.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong, trusting relationships and maintain regular communication with parents, carers, and multi-agency teams.
Candidate Requirements (Essential & Desirable):
Driving Licence: A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for community-based learning sessions.
Experience: Experience working with young people displaying challenging behaviour, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, or within an alternative provision/PRU setting is highly desirable.
Core Skills: Exceptional communication, active listening, and conflict-de-escalation skills.
Key Attributes: A calm, patient, and solution-focused mindset with the emotional resilience required for challenging educational environments.
