Paint Plant General Operator

£15.25 per hour | 2 Shift Rotation | Temp to Perm Opportunity

Jackson Hogg are currently recruiting for a Paint Plant General Operator to join a busy manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with paint plant, powder coating or industrial finishing experience looking for a long-term position with a clear route to permanent employment.

Following an initial training period on dayshift, you will move onto a 2-shift rotation, earning £15.25 per hour.

The Role

Working within the paint shop team, you will be responsible for supporting the preparation, painting and finishing process to ensure components are completed to customer specifications and production schedules.

Key duties include:

• Selecting the correct paint and materials for each production job
• Jigging and preparing parts ready for painting
• Masking components in line with engineering drawings and specifications
• Supporting powder coating and paint plant operations
• Packing finished products ready for dispatch
• Carrying out quality checks on completed work
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area
• Adhering to all health and safety procedures

Requirements

• Ideally a minimum of 12 months' experience within a powder coating, wet paint or industrial finishing environment
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Good attention to detail and quality standards
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings is desirable but not essential
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team

Hours of Work

Initial Training Period

Dayshift

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
• Friday: 8:00am - 12:30pm

Two Shift Rotation (20% Shift Premium)

Week 1 - Early Shift

• Monday to Thursday: 6:00am - 2:30pm
• Friday: 6:00am - 12:30pm

Week 2 - Back Shift

• Monday to Thursday: 2:30pm - 11:00pm
• Friday: 12:30pm - 7:00pm

Average 38.5 hours per week.

Temporary Workers

• £15.25 per hour on shift pattern
• Overtime paid at:
  • Time and a Half Monday to Saturday
  • Double Time on Sundays
