Outreach Domestic Abuse Practitioner - Coventry

Salary: £26,423 per annum
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Location: Coventry
Contract: Full Time
Working Pattern: Office Based

We are recruiting an experienced Outreach Domestic Abuse Practitioner to support women and children affected by domestic abuse.

You will provide specialist 1:1 support, manage a caseload, complete risk assessments and safety plans, provide advocacy and work closely with external agencies to ensure service users receive appropriate support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 practical and emotional support to women experiencing domestic abuse.
• Manage a caseload and develop individual support plans.
• Complete risk assessments, needs assessments and safety planning.
• Provide advocacy around housing, benefits, legal and social welfare matters.
• Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns.
• Make referrals to relevant statutory and community services.
• Work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals.
• Support women affected by Forced Marriage, FGM and Honour-Based Abuse.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records.

About You

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience within domestic abuse services.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge.
• Experience of risk assessment and safety planning.
• Good case management and advocacy skills.
• Understanding of the needs of BAME/BAMER women.
• Knowledge of HBA, Forced Marriage, FGM and NRPF.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a multi-agency environment.
• An empathetic, professional and non-judgemental approach.

Requirements

• Relevant domestic abuse/support work experience.
• Enhanced DBS.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
• Relevant qualification such as an NVQ or counselling qualification is desirable.
