Outreach Domestic Abuse Practitioner - Coventry
Salary: £26,423 per annum
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Location: Coventry
Contract: Full Time
Working Pattern: Office Based
We are recruiting an experienced Outreach Domestic Abuse Practitioner to support women and children affected by domestic abuse.
You will provide specialist 1:1 support, manage a caseload, complete risk assessments and safety plans, provide advocacy and work closely with external agencies to ensure service users receive appropriate support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 practical and emotional support to women experiencing domestic abuse.
- Manage a caseload and develop individual support plans.
- Complete risk assessments, needs assessments and safety planning.
- Provide advocacy around housing, benefits, legal and social welfare matters.
- Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns.
- Make referrals to relevant statutory and community services.
- Work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals.
- Support women affected by Forced Marriage, FGM and Honour-Based Abuse.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records.
About You
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience within domestic abuse services.
- Strong safeguarding knowledge.
- Experience of risk assessment and safety planning.
- Good case management and advocacy skills.
- Understanding of the needs of BAME/BAMER women.
- Knowledge of HBA, Forced Marriage, FGM and NRPF.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a multi-agency environment.
- An empathetic, professional and non-judgemental approach.
Requirements
- Relevant domestic abuse/support work experience.
- Enhanced DBS.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
- Relevant qualification such as an NVQ or counselling qualification is desirable.
